Terms
The plain version.
LockerChat is built and operated by Spergs, LLC. By using it you agree to these terms. Last updated: 2026-05-11.
Who you're agreeing with
"LockerChat", "we", and "us" mean Spergs, LLC, a Florida limited liability company. "The service" means the LockerChat mobile apps, the web app at app.locker.chat, and the server they connect to.
By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you don't, please don't use the service.
You need to be 18+
You have to be at least 18 years old to use LockerChat. We chose 18 across the board (above the age of digital consent in every jurisdiction we know of) so that minors aren't on the platform at all and we don't have to make parental-consent machinery a load-bearing part of the product.
Invite-only
LockerChat is invite-only. To create an account you need an invite code from someone who already has one. We may rate-limit, expire, or revoke invite codes if they're used to abuse the service (mass account creation, spam, sharing codes publicly so anyone can register).
What you can't do
Don't use LockerChat to:
- Share or store child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or content that sexualises minors in any way. We will report you to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
- Make credible threats of violence against people or property, or coordinate harm against a specific person or group.
- Spread malware, phishing kits, or stolen credentials.
- Run spam, mass unsolicited messaging, or use the service to send commercial messages to people who didn't ask for them.
- Harass, dox, or stalk other users.
- Reverse-engineer the service with the intent of compromising other users. Personal-curiosity poking around at the protocol is fine. Trying to weaponise what you find is not.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers against the service in a way that interferes with normal operation. (Your own personal-use scripts on your own account are fine.)
- Use the service in violation of any applicable law in your jurisdiction or ours.
We don't read your messages; that's the whole point. But if a recipient or a reasonable third party reports content that violates the above, we'll act on what we can see (account identifiers, sender metadata, attachment hashes) and we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the account.
Your account, your responsibility
You're responsible for:
- Keeping your password safe. We can't recover it for you. There's no email reset, by design.
- Keeping your backup passphrase safe. Lose it and the backup is unrecoverable.
- Keeping your devices physically secure. End-to-end encryption can't help if someone has your unlocked phone in their hand.
- The content of messages you send, including making sure you have the right to share what you're sharing.
Service availability
LockerChat is currently in pre-release. We don't offer a service-level agreement, an uptime guarantee, or a refund policy (because the service is free).
We try to give meaningful notice before doing anything disruptive (like upgrading the protocol in a way that requires re-keying) and we publish status during incidents.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. We'll cascade-delete the data described in the privacy policy.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that look like they're being used to harm other users. Where we can, we'll tell you why; sometimes (active investigations, legal requirements) we can't.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not make any warranties, express or implied, about fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted service, or that the service will be free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Spergs, LLC and its officers, members, and employees won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of data, profits, or goodwill) arising out of or in connection with the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by local law.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date and post a notice in the app. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept it; if you don't, you can delete your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved by emailing privacy@spergs.com will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.
